What New Facebook Changes Bring for Online Marketers
There are new changes with Facebooks news feed algorithm. WHAT ??
No surprise, right? Seems like everytime you learn something new Facebook changes it up …. and that’s ok. You just need to keep up with the changes like everything else in your world .. in your life.
Many are freaking out and there is no need to. Learn and adapt, eh?
To keep this simple … and easy to understand …
Facebook wants FB users to create more meaningful social interaction.
Before … we were told that the more we posted the more exposure we would get. That is no longer true.
So one to two posts per day … not 5 times a day. Your posts will not get shown in the feed.
The focus now needs to be on Quality … not Quantity. Facebook will limit your posts to only family and friends. You will want to continue posting engaging, QUALITY content to increase comments.
By posting quality content and having friends and family commenting … it is more likely to be seen.
Facebook is eliminating the ‘engagement bait’ posts that have no value or purpose. Example: Comment if you like rainbows … will not be considered meaningful interaction and will not be shown.
Doing FB LIVES and videos are still very popular with FB as they often create good discussions between the viewers. Lives get an average of six times as many interactions thatn the regular videos. So LIVES will continue to be very important in your FB marketing.
Facebook Groups are already good for bringing about audience engagement so there should be no problems there. So groups are still a great place for your business marketing.
Focus on good quality content … one a day. Mix in with some personal posts.
Don’t go overboard with silly pics and video . It’s likely they won’t get shown.
Do a FB LIVE twice a week… this will increase your exposure. FB created LIVES and keeps viewers on FB.
No more ‘engagement bait’ posts. You can do a question post but do it in a way that requires more from the person than just a yes or no or like.
Facebook likes to keep viewer on Facebook so do not post any link that takes them away to another internet site.
Go with the flow … adapt to the new changes and all will be well.
